SPARTA, NJ - Sparta High School December Teacher of the Month is Margaret Incantalupo, a mathematics teacher who instructs classes in Visual Basics, AP Computer Science using Java and AP Statistics.
She was recognized for the work she does motivating students in the classroom. She maintains contacts with alumni, making her lessons relevant by being able to demonstrate real world applications of materials being taught in class.
Incantalupo's students have taken the lessons learned in her classroom and used them to create various applications. One of the apps will benefit the entire Sparta High School community by helping their peers to increase productivity and more efficiently manage their time. Her students have reached out to other disciplines within the Sparta High School community creating apps for music theory class.
Lessons learned in Incantalupo's class have led students to pursue independent work. Independent projects include creating Minecraft apps, several of which have been sold.
Incantalupo is a further commended for successfully navigating two AP courses. She teaches the new AP Statistics class along with AP Computer Science.
