Sparta Middle School Garnet Team Emblem Designed by Julia Young

April 8, 2014 at 3:12 PM

SPARTA, NJ- The Seventh Grade Garnet Team at Sparta Middle School has recently established a team building club, consisting of approximately twenty students.  Those interested students  meet weekly in Language Arts teacher Stephen Frangione's room during lunch. The primary goal of the club is to promote team unity, teamwork and a better sense of community in their wing of the building and throughout the school.

The members of the club chose to first  create a Garnet emblem.  This symbol of the Garnet team will be reproduced and displayed in the hallway as well as on each classroom door.  The emblem was designed by Julia Young, one of the many very talented members of the club.

The Garnet motto, "The Magic Starts Here," is emblazoned proudly on the emblem.

The next project the students decided to focus on was to create decorations for the hallway to celebrate the long-awaited coming of spring.

The Garnet teachers are very proud of these students and hope that their enthusiasm will spread to other members of the team, so the club and team unity can continue to grow.

The  three grade levels  in the Sparta Middle School  are divided into three teams.  Each team serves as the educational family for those students for their core subjects classes; Language Arts, Math, Science and History.  Each team has a hallway in the building where nearly all of their core subject classes are held.  Electives, cycle classes,  physical education  and lunch mixes all of the students from the entire grade.  Those classrooms are throughout the building.
