Sparta Musician Onwuasoanya to be Part of the North Jersey Junior Regional Orchestra

Joseph "Chudi" Onwuasoanya will be performing with North Jersey Junior Regional Orchestra on the Bass Credits: Loni Bach

SPARTA, NJ-Joseph "Chudi" Onwuasoanya has successfully auditioned for the North Jersey Junior Regional Orchestra on the Bass.

Onwuasoanya began studying music playing the violin with teacher Dawn Tedesco.  He switched to the bass in fifth grade and is now taught by Sparta High School Orchestra Director Loni Bach.

Sharing his audition experience, Onwuasoanya said, "Personally, in the beginning I was on edge, expecting to see a bunch of basses all prepped up and appearing better than me.  But when I got there I realized almost all of them were just like me.  That fixes some of the pressure.  However, having three judges face the other way and just listen felt awkward, since I couldn't really see of think how they felt."
