SPARTA, NJ – A Lake Hopatcong man was picked up on an outstanding warrant when Cpl. Marc Rubino stopped him for a broken windshield.  On August 12 around 10 a.m. the officer stopped the black Hyundai on Route 15, police said.

When Rubino checked into driver Marcello Pinto, 45, the officer found Pinto was wanted in Riverdale.  Pinto was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing, police said.

Pinto was charged with driving while suspended, unlicensed driver and cracked windshield.  He was given a new court date in Riverdale and one from Sparta before being released.
