SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Township Police Department and Sparta PAL will be holding their Sparta Police Youth Division program again this year.  Running from August 20 through August 22, it will be held at the Sparta PAL building on Station Road, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This three day academy is open to any child in the county grades 5 and up.  The programing will focus specifically on choices that our children will be faced with regarding drugs and alcohol.  Some of the programs are interactive.  Other components of the program are blunt, straight forward discussions about the consequences of making wrong choices.

There will be presentations and programing by:

  • Members from Local Law Enforcement Agencies,
  • The Center of Prevention and Counseling in Newton,
  • Counselors and clients from  DAYTOP New Jersey Adolescent Substance Abuse Program and
  • Some special guests who will share personal experiences with substance abuse.

Many children have already registered.  The cost is $50 per family.  To pre-register your child please send an email containing your child’s name, age, school and grade to jbeebe@spartapd.org.  There is no limit to the class size.
