SPARTA, NJ – The township will be holding another shredding on Saturday, October 3. The event will be held rain or shine at the municipal building, 65 Main Street, township manager Bill Close announced at the council meeting last week.
“This has been a very popular event,” Close said.
Shredding will be free. Each car can shred five boxes of paper but there are no limits to the number of visits to the event throughout the day.
Only paper will be shredded. Paperclips and staples are allowed. Prohibited items include magazines, books, plastic bags, binders and other plastic items.
Sparta residents, businesses and non-profits are welcome to use the service. People attending are asked to remain in their vehicle during the drop off. Township personnel, wearing protective clothing, will unload the papers.
The hours are 9 a.m. until noon or until the trucks are full, according to the township’s announcement.
