TOMS RIVER, NJ – Sparta High School track traveled to the Bennett Center to compete in the NJSIAA Group 2 Relays on Friday.  The Spartans were up against 52 other schools from across the state, Coach Richard Heckman said.

Jake Galluccio and Chris Johnson captured a third place in the High Jump relay.

Galluccio, James Bate, Justin Grau and Jack Maraziti, the boys Sprint Medley relay team finished 14th.

The girls Distance Medley Relay team, comprised of Madison O’Hare, Julia Wilson, Genesis Sanchez and Kayleigh Simpson finished 14th.

The boys Distance Medley Relay team, comprised of Bates, Grau, Jon Byrnes and Maraziti finished 16th. 

Sparta’s track athletes will travel to the Jersey City Armory on Friday, January 24 to compete at the Reid Varsity Invitational.
