SUMMIT, NJ - Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nathan Parker and Assistant Superintendent of Schools Julie Glazer, Board of Education members, and community leaders will gather on Jan. 11 to discuss news and information regarding the city's schools.
The "State of The District" event will take place at the home of Patti Schneider, located at 11 Warwick Road. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m., with the presentation to follow beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Key topics will included progress of the full-day kindergarten program; updates on the new construction projects, which include additions to Franklin and Jefferson Elementary Schools and restoration of the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School auditorium; security measures at many District Schools; the new PARCC standardizing testing program; teacher evaluations; new report cards for grades K-5; block scheduling at Summit High School, and more.
The administrators will present, and then a question and answer period will follow. The morning meeting will be taped for broadcast by Hilltopper TV, which can be seen locally on Verizon Channel 28 and on Comcast Channel 964.
