SPF Edges Roselle, 59-58, in OT Thriller in Boys Basketball


SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - A steal and a layup by Chris Gibbons with 10 seconds left in overtime gave the Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys basketball team a 59-58 victory over Roselle Thursday night in Roselle.

Roselle had taken a one-point lead with 30 seconds left on a 3-point basket. In regulation, the Raiders trailed, 49-46, before Josh Acosta buried a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to set up the overtime. 

Leo Ramos led Scotch Plains-Fanwood with 23 points and Quaryee Bull finished with 10 points in the victory. Gibbons had nine points and Acosta eight.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood (5-2) is scheduled to host Cranford tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m.
