SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Spotswood DECA will hold its second annual mun sale from now until Wednesday, September 26. The nine inch mum pots are $5 for an individual pot or $20 for five mum plants. Mums can be ordered in burgundy, orange, yellow, white or purple.
This year's mum sale is being organized by Spotswood DECA members Leah Demers and Stephanie Gumprecht. Demers and Gumprecht are working together to complete a manual as a part of the DECA Earn and Learn Project. All of the proceeds from the sale will go toward the DECA Scholarship Fund.
DECA is a co-curricular program that prepares students for college as well as professional careers by combining classroom instruction with real-life interactions involving the community and area businesses as well as competitive events. Each year NJ DECA chapters participate in a community service project that raises money for a different charity. Last fall, Spotswood DECA sold more than 1,000 mums with the money raised benefiting the Bridge of Books Foundation.
Mum orders can be placed by downloading and printing the form pictured above. Completed orders and payment can be given to Spotswood DECA members. Payment can be made with exact change or by check. Checks should be made payable to Spotswood DECA.
Orders can also be dropped off at Spotswood High School's upcoming Back to School Night on September 20 or mailed to Spotswood DECA advisor Kelly Meagher at Spotswood High School, 105 Summerhill Road, Spotswood, NJ, 08884.
Mums can be picked up in the front of Spotswood High School on Thursday, October 4 from 2:15 p.m. until 5 p.m.
