SPOTSWOOD, NJ - After a 3-2 loss in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group One Tennis Tournament to Florence High School, the Spotswood High School boys varsity tennis team bounced back with a 4-1 victory over South Plainfield High School. Spotswood's win increased the team's overall season record to 10-8 and capped off a two week stretch where the Chargers went 6-2.

Derek Miller defeated Kyle Gallardo, (6-1, 6-0), to win his first singles match while Jason Acheampong won over  Zenen Rivera, (6-4, 6-0), in his second singles match. It took three sets for Bryan Chan to defeat the Tigers'  Akaash Patel. Chan bounced back to take the final two sets after dropping the first set, (6-3).

Ryan Miller and Josh Mathew won their first doubles match over Ryan Doan and Johnson Nguyen (6-3, 6-3).  Wyatt Gerber and Scott Cardona earned the only match point for South Plainfield, defeating Connor Lennan and Luke Evanego, (6-3, 6-3).

Spotswood has two regular season matches on the schedule. A Monday away matchup with Perth Amboy High School and a final home match on Wednesday against New Brunswick High School.
