SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team lost to Princeton High School 40-29 on Thursday in the team's final regular season game The loss drops the Chargers overall season record to 8-17. Catherine Dyevich was the game's top scorer, dropping 17 points for Princetion while Erin Devine added 11. Maddie Hellerich was Spotswood's high scorer, netting 11 points and pulling down eight rebounds. Jessica Addesso chipped in six points for the Chargers while both Savannah Robinson and Megan Devlin scored five. Devlin also grabbed five rebounds and Robinson notched five assists.
Spotswood will now turn its attention toward the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group Two Tournament which get underway on Monday. The Chargers travel to Roselle to play Abraham Clark High School at 4 p.m. The Rams have an overall record of 13-9 and were 4-6 in the UCC-Sky Division. Manasquan High School is the top seed in the bracket with an 18-6 overall record. Metuchen High School is the 16th seed with a 7-17 record.
