SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Isabella Wysocki scored the game-winning goal on a pass from Nyela Liverpool for Wardlaw-Hartridge High School in the final minute of regulation time to defeat the Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team 1-0. The Rams stopped the Chargers' win streak at three. Wardlaw-Hartridge is undefeated in conference play and is in first place in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division. Spotswood is second in the division with a 10-3 conference record. Two of Spotswood's three losses this season have come against Wardlaw-Hartridge.

Julia Masucci made eight saves for the Chargers and Nikolette Aponte also made eight saves for the Rams to earn the shutout. Spotswood will take on Colonia High School on Saturday, October 13 at 10 a.m. at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. It is the first meeting between the two teams this season.

The team also flew balloons with the numbers 302 along their sideline yesterday. The balloons were in honor of Spotswood High School English teacher John Chaya. Chaya passed away suddenly on Tuesday, shocking and saddening students and staff at Spotswood High School. The numbers signify Chaya's room at the school. The team plans to fly the balloons at their Saturday home game against Colonia as a tribute to Chaya.
