CARTERET, NJ - Zach Mataya netted 19 points as the Spotswood High School varsity basketball team dropped its tenth straight game on Friday, losing to Carteret High School, 71-40. The Chargers currently occupy last place in the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division with a 2-6 division record. Carteret is second in the conference to division leading Bishop Ahr High School with a 6-2 conference record.

Janhil Nix led the way for the Ramblers with 26 points while Thamirr Lamarr scored 12. Kyle Davey earned six points for Spotswood while senior Matt Vento added five. Vento netted his 1,000 point as a Charger in Wednesday's game against South Plainfield. Ryan Quinn, George Guyette and Jack Andrulewich all chipped in three points.

Spotswood has a few practice and rest days before hitting the court against the Trojans on Wednesday. Bishop Ahr is undefeated in conference play this season with an 8-0 division record. The team has an overall record of 12-2. Tip off for Wednesday's game at the Spotswood High School Gymnasium is at 6 p.m.
