NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -- After a snow-filled, polar vortex filled winter many New Jerseyans have been pining for spring. And it’s finally here.
Many years the crocuses are up in early February, and some years in January. But this year the constant snow-cover and frozen soil kept the sprouts in the ground and the petals waiting.
But as of 12:57 p.m. today, March 20, 2014, spring has arrived and the crocuses are coming up all over North Plainfield and Green Brook. The purples and yellows are just poking their heads out as the vernal equinox arrives, a welcome sight for many residents.
