MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Health Department shut down the 7-Eleven at 1712 Springfield Ave. near Tuscan Road on Friday for an undisclosed violation of the Township Health Code.

The red “unsatisfactory” notice was placed at the entrance on July 6, stating only that the store received an “unsatisfactory” sanitary inspection report from the health department.

Health officials could not be reached for comment and store workers had no information. 7-Eleven corporate communications have yet to respond to requests for comment. It is unknown how long the closing will take place.
