SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – Junior forward Michelle Bellino posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and senior guard Sayre Brandstatter added 17 points, hitting three 3-pointers, with four assists to lead Dayton past Verona, 51-45, last Friday in Springfield.

Senior guard Maggie Phillips grabbed six rebounds for Dayton, which used an 11-4 fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

Senior guard Desiree Meyer score 12 points, all on 3-pointers, and Lauren Kobernick, senior guard Brianna Horton and sophomore Melanie Naeris each scored nine points apiece for Verona (14-6), which has lost three straight and four of its last five games.

With two regular season games remaining, the Bulldogs improved to 11-11 and have won five of its last seven games.

The Bulldogs will visit Dunellen on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. tilt and then return home for its final regular season game versus Governor Livingston on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Bulldog Bites: Brandstatter has scored in double figures in three straight and nine of her last 10 games and also has drained 41 3-pointers in 22 games played ... Bellino leads the team in points (269, 13 better than Brandtstatter) and rebounds (145) … The Bulldogs are 7-5 at home and 4-6 on the road this season.
