SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The following is the Springfield Police Department Blotter for the first half of the month of January:

January 2 – Officers responded to a Morris Avenue business on a report of an unwanted guest. A 55-year-old Springfield man was charged with failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia as a result of an investigation at the scene.

January 3 – A 36-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana, prescription legend drugs and narcotics paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Morris Turnpike.

January 14 – An Officer on routine patrol observed a reported stolen vehicle traveling west on Route 22 and effected a motor vehicle stop in Mountainside. The driver, a 27-year-old Newark man, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana, driving under the influence, and refusal to submit to a breath test.

January 15 – Officers were dispatched to a Morris Avenue business on a report of an unwanted guest. The suspect, a 45-year-old Elizabeth woman, refused to comply with Officer’s commands to identify herself or vacate the premises. She was escorted out of the building and into the parking lot, where she continued to cause a disturbance. She was arrested and charged with lewdness and disorderly conduct as well as an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth.

Officers made additional arrests on outstanding warrants out of Newark, Springfield, Cinnaminson, Elizabeth, and Union County.
