WHAT: Branch Brook Park Alliance, in partnership with the County of Essex, presents the return of Under the Stars in the Park, a five-week series of fun, family-friendly events offering free music and movies in the meadow of Essex County Branch Brook Park on Tuesdays throughout the summer.
The series kicks off on Tuesday, July 5 with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s annual concert with a spectacular fireworks display, sponsored by Essex County Department of Parks.
The summer fun continues on Tuesday evenings with the return of Movies Under the Stars from July 12 through August 2. Movie fans of all ages can bring a blanket/low-back chair, a picnic and friends to enjoy outdoor screenings of recent blockbusters, comedies and classics including Megamind, Step Up 3, ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, and a showing of ELF for a special holiday theme night: "Christmas in July".
Refreshments will be available for purchase, bring picnics and blankets/chairs to all “Under the Stars” events to enjoy a night out amidst the bucolic wonder of Newark’s crown jewel: Essex County Branch Brook Park.
