Stockton Announces Awards Dinner; Revel offers Dining Plan; Wildwoods set Convention Center event; Edwards Twins to hit Resorts stage

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey’s Council of Black Faculty and Staff will host their 31st Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner and Dance on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Stockton Seaview Resort in Galloway.  The cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m. and the awards program at 7 p.m.

The Co-Chairs for this year’s event are Dr. Harvey Kesselman, Provost and Executive Vice President at Stockton and Mr. Arthur A. Davis, Jr., former Executive Director for Administrative Services at the College.

“The Council’s annual dinner and dance is one of the most eagerly-anticipated events at the College, Council President Patricia W. (Trish) Collins said. “It is an opportunity for colleagues to enjoy each other’s company while helping our deserving students.  We’re especially excited to be holding the event this year for the first time at Stockton’s Seaview Resort”.

The 2012 honorees include: Lifetime Award recipient: Mr. Alberto “Bert” Lopez, Manager, Atlantic City Electric, Public Affair; Merit Award recipient: Dr. Eileen P. Conran-Folks, Manager, Hammonton Center and Noyes Museum, The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey; Distinguished Alumni recipient: Ms. Ariane A. Newman, Assistant Director, Continuing Studies, The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

Proceeds from the event help support the Council’s Scholarship Endowment, which provides scholarship funds to deserving Stockton students.

Level 3 and 4 guests redeem 10 Resort Dollars for each certificate.  Card Holders present their certificates at one of the participating restaurants during that gaming day.

The Wildwoods Convention Center will again host the Sports Card, Toys, Comics and Collectibles Show Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26 – an event perfect for collectors of all kinds.

Presented by RK Sports Promotions, the expo will feature more than 125 tables of the hottest collectibles, including old and new sports cards; toys; comic books; Starting Line-ups; McFarlane figures; NASCAR memorabilia; non-sports cards, Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic; Beanie Babies; unopened wax boxes; supplies; autographed memorabilia; sets; posters; coins; t-shirts; trains; dolls; and much more.

The expo will feature autographs from guests of the professional wrestling, football and boxing arenas. Legendary wrestling ring announcer and Hall of Famer Howard Finkel will appear on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. along with other wrestling Hall of Famers, including Tony Atlas, on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Nikolai Volkoff on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.; and ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Boxing superstars include former IBF, WBC & Lineal Welterweight Champ and former WBC Light Middleweight Champ Simon Brown, as well as current NABF Light Welterweight Champ Chop Chop Corley. Both will be appearing on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

This Labor Day Weekend, Resorts Casino Hotel will have the hardest working twins in show business making their Atlantic City debut for two nights of 100 stars!
