Stolen Vehicles and Burglaries in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The following items were reported by the Maplewood Police Department:

January 2, 2014; Attempt Burglary: A Highland Avenue resident returned home and found that a rear sliding door to the residence had been damaged.  It does not appear that entry was gained to the home.

January 2, 2014; Stolen Motor Vehicles: Two Dodge Caravans were reported stolen from 50 Burnett Ave. They were stolen sometime over the previous few days.

January 3, 2014; Burglary: At approximately 1:15 p.m., officers responded to an alarm activation on Harding Street.  Upon their arrival, it was found that a window had been opened and that entry was gained to the home.  Officers checked the home and surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect(s).

All incidents are currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.  Residents are asked to practice good crime prevention techniques and secure their homes, garages and automobiles when left unattended.
