PARKLAND, FL- The Stoneman Douglas Boys Basketball Team went into today's single elimination playoff game with something to prove. This season has not been an easy one for the Eagles. They lost a number of key seniors and also transitioned to a new coach. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 7-13 record. 

Douglas matched up with Coral Glades today in the first round of district playoffs at Monarch High School. The pair first met in December; Coral Glades crushed the Eagles 72-55. Today, the Eagles returned the favor. Douglas had an early lead and built upon it each quarter. The Eagles lead 34-19 at the half and won 65-41 at the final buzzer. 

With the win, Stoneman Douglas advances to the 7A District Semifinals. They will face Taravella on Tuesday, February 11 at 4:30 p.m. at Monarch once again. The Eagles lost to Taravella by 3 points in regular season play this season. The winner advances to the district finals on Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30 p.m.
