PARKLAND, FL- The Stoneman Douglas girls' soccer team defeated Boca High School in the regional semifinal playoff game by a score of 3-2 in extra time on Friday night.

Samantha Novik scored a long free kick to tie the game at 1-1. Grace Keane scored a long goal to tie the game 2-2 sending the game into a shoot out. 

The Eagles won the shootout 4-3 securing the win.

"It was a very hard fought game, and I am very proud of how hard the team worked tonight! Boca is a great team, and we feel fortunate to have gotten the win," Coach Laura Rountree said.

The win improved the Eagles' record to 8-2 on the season and advancement to the Regional Final. 

Stoneman Douglas next plays Vero Beach High School in a regional final playoff game at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
