If it’s Tuesday it must be time to visit the Rescue Squad!  Come by our Open House/Meet&Greet. 7 to 9 pm. Stop by for Coffee. Ask Questions. Meet our Members. Tour the Ambulances.

Are you curious about the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS)? Have you thought about joining but are concerned about the commitment? Are you unsure how you could fit one more thing into your busy week?

Our members felt the same way. Many of us have jobs, children, and some attend school. The BHVRS makes it easy to volunteer. Members have the option of riding at night or during the day—and you do not need to stay at the building when you are on shift.

Most of our members did not work in the health care field before we became EMTs. You do not need any medical training. We will teach you everything you need to know—and we do not ask you for more than you can give or handle. All you need is a desire to learn and help.

Come stop by our open houses, every Tuesday night from 7-9pm at the Rescue Squad located at 378 Snyder Avenue. Ask our squad members anything you want to know! Learn about what it is like to be on the BHVRS and how it can fit into your hectic life. Tour our ambulances, have some refreshments, bring the family!

BHVRS is pleased to, once again, offer free, 1 hour, Community CPR courses:  Sunday, May 19 at 3:30pm or Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 pm. You (yes, you!) can save a person’s life by knowing CPR, how to use an AED, and helping someone who’s choking. To sign up just email us at  CPR@bhvrs.org or call 908-464-0013.

Look for upcoming info on our Plant and Bake Sale to raise monies for Relay for Life/American Cancer Society.  Sunday, May 19, 11am to 4pm.  Leah’s Lemonade will be there too!

Did you know….

The BHVRS is staffed entirely by volunteers.  We never charge for any of our services. We are funded, not by tax dollars, but nearly entirely by donations.
