SUMMIT, NJ - The Suburban Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2014 Chamber of Commerce Awards, which will be presented March 26 at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Grand Summit Hotel.
The following are award winners:
Silver Service Award – Betse Gump—Volunteer Extraordinaire
This award recognizes a private citizen or public servant who has served at least 25 years in multiple volunteer organizations and/or on community boards or committees, someone who has demonstrated a long-time dedication to the community.
Public Service Organization – The Lions Club of New Providence
Each year the Chamber honors an organization which has consistently performed services within our communities and has achieved or carried out one or more outstanding events or projects during the previous year.
Beautification Award – Anne Poyner - Head of Drama Department at Summit High School
This award traditionally recognizes a person, business, property owner or organization which has made significant improvements to the community including expanding and enhancing cultural experiences.
Public Service Award – HomeTowne TV News Team
This award honors an outstanding, well-rounded citizen who lives or works in our communities and has demonstrated exemplary services by way of volunteerism and community involvement.
Business of the Year Award – Summit Medical Group, Berkeley Heights
The Chamber seeks to recognize a business or business person who has operated a respected business in our communities. Considerations is given for outstanding practices, products and/or services and involvement in our communities by way of contributions to local programs, events and other services.
President’s Award – The Weinerman and the Gelber Families, The Grand Summit Hotel
This special award is presented as a special honor by the CEO of the Suburban Chamber of commerce to a person, business or organization that has demonstrated outstanding leadership in providing services to its surrounding communities.
