BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The summer concert series concluded last night with a spirited performance by the "Beginnings" a Chicago Tribute Band. The group attracted a large crowd of 400 concert goers that were a combination of young and old, and nonetheless, they were eager to sing along to the familiar tunes of Chicago. The crowd’s energy was only a reflection of the band; who were using every bit of the stage to make for an extremely entertaining and enjoyable performance.
As dusk fell upon Memorial field, the stage only became more of a spectacle, lights were flashing and the sound of the saxophone filled the air to create for a rock-and-roll mood that left all audience members glad they came to enjoy the timeless sounds of Chicago here in their very own town.
The band played popular songs such as “If you leave me now”, “Look away” and “Feeling Stronger Everyday”. The audience members were able to listen to these Chicago covers come alive as they snacked on popcorn provided by Taylor Rental and water was provided by Smith Chiropractic.
As the closing band for the summer series the "Beginnings" blew away the audience for sure leaving them enthusiastic for what next summer has to bring! The audience members were happy they came out to the final concert and will definitely be singing Chicago covers for the next few days, just to linger in their last few moments of summer concert fun.
The Concert in the Park Series was brought to Memorial Park by the Berkeley Heights Recreation Department and the Special Events Committee and is sponsored by Suburban Chamber of Commerce along with the Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights and Berkeley Aquatics. Last night's "Beginnings" show was sponsored by Taylor Rental.
