Summer Happenings at New Providence Library

Look for the white basket at the front of the Circulation Desk for details and written response forms for New Providence Memorial Library's Adult Summer Reading Program.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Summer reading for adults is in full swing at the New Providence Memorial Library.

There are no reading lists or required reading.  Instead, the library initiates a discussion question each week and asks patrons to respond based on what they are reading or have recently read.  There is a weekly prize drawing from among all the week's participants and each participant is entered into a grand prizing drawing at the end of the contest which runs until July 31. Prizes are mostly $10 gift cards to New Providence businesses such as A&P, NP Florist, Paolo's, McGrath's & Tables for Two. Grand prizes are gift cards to NP Fuel & Skin Deep Spa as well as a gift basket from Starbuck's.

Look for discussion questions either on GoodReads -- the group is NPML Online Reading Group -- or find the group on Facebook or just do it the old-fashioned way with a form from the white basket on the Circulation Desk.

Next up, for the month of July, the library is running a Science Fiction Movie Fest. The library will be showing four movies throughout the month: Metropolis; Earth vs. the Flying Saucers; Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Robocop. See for details on dates and times.
