SUMMIT, NJ - In June of 1778, The Continental Army -- under General George Washington -- attacked the rear of the British Army column using their artillery, eventually forcing British commander General Clinton withdraw in the Battle of Monmouth.

In the same month of 2014, the Summit Futures Lacrosse Club's 7th Grade Team went undefeated through four games, then swept through the playoffs to win the Battle of Monmouth Lacrosse Tournament in Colts Neck.
The 22-player team is coached by former Summit High School Lacrosse player Mike Dugan, who is assisted by 2014 Graduate, All American goalie Sam Bebout.  The 7th Grade team is one of eight teams fielded by the Summit Futures Lacrosse Club, ranging from the 4th Grade to High School A levels.
