Summit High School Music Pledge Day Nov. 3

SUMMIT, NJ – The Summit High School Music program is gearing up for Pledge Day, which will be held Nov. 3. The townwide, door-to-door fundraiser is an annual event to raise money for enrichment activities, and to help defray the costs of its bi-annual music trip.

This year, the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Orchestra will have the honor of performing at Walt Disney World Orlando, FL, April 24-28, 2014.

Along with workshops, the Choir will compete at Festival Disney, the Marching Band will march down Main Street at Magic Kingdom, and the Jazz Band and Orchestra will perform lakeside at Downtown Disney to entertain guests.

Past trips have included Montreal, Boston and Annapolis, where the program has received the highest honors for its conductors and performers.  Students will be in the community, going door-to-door to collect donations.  Interested parties can also donate by sending a check, made out to the “Summit Music Parents Association”, to Summit High School, 125 Kent Place Boulevard., Summit, NJ 07901.
