WESTFIELD, NJ — Summit Medical Group (SMG) held a grand opening at its new Westfield location, 574 Springfield Ave., on Oct. 23 to show off its state-of-the-art, two-floor, 32,000-square foot facility.
The building has more than 160 healthcare professionals, 27 new exam rooms, a physical therapy center with hand therapy rooms and tables, two audiology booths and a host of AMGA medical specialties and services including an urgent care center on the first floor with access to onsite laboratory imaging services, physicians that are board-certified in emergency medicine and fast-track services for same-day evaluation and treatment of non-emergency health problems. The urgent care center is open days, nights and weekends.
“It’s very exciting that you’re here today,” said Mayor Andy Skibitksy, whose family uses SMG. He noted that the group is very involved in the Westfield community, sponsoring such events as the annual Downtown Westfield 5K & Pizza Extravaganza and Downtown Westfield’s Girls’ Night Out.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rob Brenner said that Westfield is a key area for the group, which has expanded greatly during the last few years.
“We have had a presence in Westfield a very long time,” said Brenner. As the group expands, he said, "What’s really, really important to us is propagating the model of care we have.”
