SUMMIT, NJ - Daniella Ospina and Daniel Kohaut -- each a graduating senior of Summit High School -- have been awarded the 2020 Christ Child Society of Summit Scholarship. The $2,500 Scholarship is awarded to students "who have displayed academic achievement, worked or volunteered with children, and who have financial aid."
Ospina and Kohaut were chosen from among 16 applicants because of their dedication to succeed in school, their contribution to their communities and families and their independent spirit. Ospina will be attending Rutgers Newark this fall and Kohaut will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology.
The Christ Child Scholarship Committee members are include Jackie McCarthy-Browne, Leslie Drummond, Donna Groskoph, Allison Lees, Bev Luehs and Maura Perier.
The Christ Child Society of Summit is a non-denominational, not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving children in the community. In addition to the Annual Scholarship, the Christ Child Society of Summit helps children in need by providing school supplies to Summit Students each August and Layettes to babies of need at Overlook and Morristown Hospitals throughout the year.
