Suspect Arrested in Alois Place Double-Shooting Case

PATERSON, NJ - Laquan Coleman, 25, a resident of the north side of the city, has been arrested in connection with a double shooting that occurred at 9:28 p.m. on Feb. 13 in a housing development in the city's Riverside section on Alois Place.

Detectives David Tanis and Francisco Brito arrested Coleman on East Main Street Tuesday as he exited a vehicle in which he was a passenger. Detectives identified Coleman as the alleged shooter in the incident during their investigation.

Coleman was arrested without incident, and was charged with two counts of Attempted Murder along with Weapons Possession violations. He is currently being held pending the setting of bail and an initial court appearance.

On Feb. 13, a 26-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were each shot on Alois Place. Both victims have since been treated and released for their wounds.
