FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A New Brunswick man has been arrested and charged with heroin possession, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, who provided the following details:
Marcelino Ortiz, of Harvey Street, was seen by police on a bicycle in the area of Hamilton Street in Franklin on Aug. 29th around 8:15 p.m. meeting with several different people.
Police were conducting a "quality of life" detail in the area. Task Force police approached the suspect, who was found to have three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Ortiz was placed under arrest and a subsequent search found ten glassine folds of suspected heroin.
Ortiz was charged with 3rd degree Possession of Heroin. He was processed and issued a summons for the aforementioned possession charge and turned over to Middlesex County Jail for the outstanding arrest warrants.
