BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - It is the day after Ground Hog's Day, however, it was an experience right out of the Bill Murray movie. I sat in the ABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News van waiting with reporter Michelle Charlesworth and her cameraman to air the next segment on the "Messy Mix in New Jersey: Raw, Slushy, and Wet Snow Now Falling."
Charlesworth graciously invited me into the van and chatted with me like a long-lost friend. The news van had been at the train station since 3 a.m.
When asked, "Why Berkeley Heights?" Charlesworth explained that Berkeley Heights always has early snow accumulations, so going on the air at 4:30 a.m., Berkeley Heights is a safe bet for a snow story.
