Tikkun Olam, literally repairing the world, is Congregation B'nai Jeshurun's Social Action Committee. The focus of the committee is to help others, both within and outside the TBJ community. Projects include membership in the Interfaith Hospitality Network which provides families without homes temporary housing and a connection to Bridges Outreach, which serves the homeless in our area. Each spring the Tikkun Olam Committee presents Family Mitzvah Day.

In an effort to give families the opportunity to do good deeds more often, Sunday, October 25th has been designated as TBJ Cares. There are four projects from which to choose: cooking a meal for Toni's Soup kitchen, knitting shawls & infant caps for St. Barnabas patients, a cleanup session at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum Preservation in Millburn, and working with Habitat for Humanity on a clean up project in Newark.

A registration form is available on the Temple website: www.tbj.org. For further information contact Congregation B'nai Jeshurun at 973-379-1555 or info@tbj.org
