BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Join Temple Ner Tamid for an intergenerational Megillah reading to celebrate the festival of Purim on March 20.

It will  begin at 6 p.m.with crafts for the youngest members followed by an Intergenerational Megillah Reading at 6:30 p.m.. Afterward, everyone will break out into different group activities ranging from art to music to text study led by Rabbi Marc Katz, Cantor Meredith Greenberg, and members of the staff.

Next, get ready for some serious fun when Temple Ner Tamid welcomes all to the new, creative, and original SPNL:  SPIEL NIGHT LIVE on Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m.. This year’s talented cast of members -crossing the generations-tells the story of the heroic Esther and the evil Haman through comedic sketches while satirizing classic Saturday Night Live characters familiar to their TV audience.  TNT’s spiel, long recognized for sharp parody, great music and talented temple members, takes on popular SNL songs like “King Tut” and “The Blues Brothers” along with a library of 1980s New Wave music culminating in the 1980s Tikkum Olam vibe we all remember.

Then on Sunday, bring your family members of all ages back on Sunday morning at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 24 for the Purim Carnival hosted by the Temple youth group, NuTTY.  The carnival is fun for the entire family and is a major contributor to the money raised to support youth learning and engagement as well as the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.  The silent auction will have great opportunities to bid on items from various local businesses and restaurants.  Wear your costumes and enjoy the fun, food all the festivities. Bring a contribution for the Food Bank.
