Temple Sholom Plans Torah March to New Home in Scotch Plains on Sunday, Aug. 24

SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ — The congregation of Temple Sholom will conduct a Torah March Sunday from its current home at Fanwood Presbyterian Church (74 South Martine Ave.) in Fanwood to its new building at 1925 Lake Ave. in Scotch Plains. The event will be followed by a housewarming BBQ starting at 2 p.m.  
 
Temple Sholom is a Reform Jewish congregation that welcomes traditional and nontraditional families and individuals. The congregation aspires to create a warm and caring atmosphere to foster inclusiveness and community,cultivate a love and understanding of Jewish heritage. The temple promotes the perpetuation of Judaism and engages in life-long learning, worship and social action (tikun olam).
 
 
Upcoming events include Temple Sholom's first service on Friday, August 29 and its official dedication service that will occur on Friday, Sept. 12.
