CHATHAM, NJ - Sophomore Kelsey Terry netted the first goal and senior Kelsey Burke followed with two goals in fueling Chatham's 3-1 girls soccer victory over Montville on Monday at Haas Field.
According to Chatham coach Chris Mazurkiewicz, "Chatham struck first on beautiful ball work from Juliana DeMaria to Kelsey Burke and finally on to Kelsey Terry, who blistered the ball past the Montville keeper for her second goal on the season."
With about five minutes left in the half, Kelsey Burke was taken down in the box for a penalty kick, which she converted to put Chatham ahead 2-0.
Montville finally got on the board in the second half on a crossed ball that found its way to Amanda Murolo, who fired it past the Chatham keeper. With 15 minutes left in the game, Chatham finished the scoring on a wonderful corner kick from Emily Walczyk that found the head of Burke to put Chatham ahead 3-1. Chatham's Morgan Maltby finished the game with 8 saves.
Chatham returns to field tomorrow in their final home game of the regular season against conference rival Mendham.
