The South Plainfield Basketball Girls’ team has been competing hard all season.  This past week the Lady Tigers won two of the three games they played. On Tuesday, South Plainfield defeated Woodbridge by a score of 57-52.  Then in another divisional game Saturday afternoon, the Lady Tigers defeated the Mustangs of John F. Kennedy 52-47.  South Plainfield has won four out of their last five games to bring their record on the season to 5-5.  A lot of this success has been due to the play of junior Mackenzie O’Brien.

This season Mackenzie has averaged 19 points and 14.7 rebounds per game.  Mackenzie has been dominate for South Plainfield.  In the win against Woodbridge she scored 28 points and had 20 rebounds.  Then against JFK she had 21 points and 25 rebounds. The Lady Tigers are starting to play well as a team and look for  continued improvement with the leadership of Mackenzie O’Brien.
