The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC) and SHRM CNJ hosted this year's Human Resources Summit at the Rutgers Club on February 21. This year's summit was titled "A GPS For A Rewarding Business Culture," and focused on how to "drive" through company culture on smooth roads.

 

The keynote, Michael Ehret, Head of Succession Management and Assessment Strategies at Johnson & Johnson, spoke on "Culture in Your Organization, What Is It & How Does It Drive Bottom Line Results."

There were also two panel discussions that helped navigate members along the winding roads of company culture.

 

The first panel focused on "Your Company's Culture Impacts It All" with Barry Rudner, Director of HR Operations at GEP Worldwide, who served as moderator. Panelists included: Joan Kampo, Director of Human Resources at WithumSmith+Brown; Lisa Drumbore, Vice President & Chief Experience Officer at Saint Peters Healthcare; Denille Meloche, Talent Acquisition Advisor for Fulton Financial Corporation, and Arnie Tiangco, President of CMIT Solutions of New Brunswick.

The second panel focused on "Creating A Culture of Change." Moderator Vicki Fackovec, Vice President of Director of Human Resource from Magyar Bank, helped drive the conversation with panelists: Jon Gallo, from Now I'm Fit; Lois Nagie, Director of Human Resources at Delta Dental of New Jersey & Connecticut; Alex Fowlie, Human Resources Manager at CASCADES Containerboard Packaging, and Radia Carr, Director of Client Engagement & Corporate Trainer at Dale Carnegie of Central & Southern New Jersey.

 

Panelists stressed the importance of having great company culture and how it affects present and future employees.

There was also a breakout session, titled "Toolbox For Creating A Great Culture, Featuring A Case Study Success Story," led by Dixita Soni, Supervisor of Human Resources Operations and Talent Acquisition, at Silver Line Building Products.

There was also a delicious breakfast provided by the Rutgers Club and plenty of coffee to help think of engaging questions to ask.
