HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Free Public Library of Hasbrouck Heights is open for in-person browsing by appointment.   Masks must be worn at all times and contactless temperature checks are required for all visitors.  Due to the nature of our setup as part of Borough Hall, the public is asked to use the Madison Avenue entrance for the library. Curbside pickup service is also offered.

The Hasbrouck Heights Library continues to offer virtual activities for the whole family and for the life-long learner.  Registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted.  Visit the library’s website for details and click on “Calendar”.

Movie & Popcorn Night - Borrow any 5 Hasbrouck Heights-owned DVDs from our Adult or Juvenile collection using curbside or in-person browsing, and we’ll provide a bag of microwave popcorn for your next movie night with family to enjoy. 

Second Family Virtual Scavenger Hunt will run from Sunday-Friday, December 13 through 18.  Family teams will compete using the GooseChase app, which is available to download for free on all platforms. Join in on the excitement.  


For CHILDREN

Book Bonus Goody - For every 5 books borrowed from the Hasbrouck Heights-owned holiday collection, we’ll include a surprise Book Bonus Goody.  We have many December holiday books so make an appointment to come and take a look or choose online for curbside pickup.   Every five borrowed gets another surprise.

Holiday Book Bingo - Feeling lucky? Kids in grades 2-5 are invited to play on Thursday, December 10 at 3:30 pm via Zoom.  Link will be provided after registration. 

Little Artists Grab & Go @ Curbside on Friday, December 18.  A Seasonal Holiday Craft and bonus Story Time, which is a complete craft-in-a-bag available for pickup during the library’s curbside hours and a story time link via YouTube.  

Holiday Story Time LIVE viz Zoom on Wednesday, December 23 at 2 pm. Join in on the fun and hear wonderful tales and adventure told by Ms Maureen.

For TEENS

Play Quiplash – a Jackbox Trivia Game after school via zoom on Monday, December 14 at 4 pm.  Link will be provided via email after registration.

Teen Craft-to-Go on Tuesday, December 22 for students in grades 6-12.  An exciting winter craft will be available for pickup during evening curbside hours and a tutorial will be posted on YouTube. 

For ADULTS

Community Time Capsule - When it comes to COVID-19, we all have a story to tell. How has your life changed since the beginning of the year? Send us a written entry, photos, or an audiofile detailing your Covid-19 Story, and contribute to Hasbrouck Heights history!  All accounts will be logged and integrated into our local history archive for future generations to see. Send in your personal accounts in the mail, email us, or connect with us on social media. See the website for more details.

Job Search Resources - Finding a job is hard, but your local library can help!   Visit the library’s website for trusted job search portals, job guides, career building, and resume skills training resources.  Stop by to borrow from our extensive Job & Career collection. Call or email us for resume and cover letter assistance.  Stay tuned for virtual programs focused on resume building coming this January 2021.

Tuesdays – Fridays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm 
For Curbside:
Mondays, and Wednesdays – Fridays from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm
Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

The public is welcome to return library materials to our book box.  It is located in back of the municipal building.   All items will be quarantined for 72 hours prior to check-in.
