The Masterwork Chorus holds auditions on Sept. 3 and Sept. 10 from 7:30 pm to 10 p.m. at the Chatham United Methodist Church, 460 Main Street, Chatham. Potential singers must have choir/choral experience and good vocal and sight-reading skills. Auditions may be scheduled by contacting Membership Chair, Don MacGowan, at 973-479-4020 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Walk-ins are also welcome and will be heard as time permits.
The 2014-2015 season promises to be novel and exciting. Performances begin with a private concert in early December featuring holiday music from across the centuries, and continue on December 18 and 20 as Masterwork presents Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall and Ridge PAC under the baton of Andrew Megill. These concerts mark the end of Megill’s highly successful fifteen-year association with the chorus.
Spring 2015 performances focus on the selection of a new music director. The two finalists emerging from the search process will each be asked to rehearse and conduct the chorus in concert using repertoire primarily of their own choosing. Performances are scheduled for March 7 and May 9 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit, NJ.
