Oliver B. Bomble, a gentleman of independent wealth, and his good friend Ocelot delve into the mystery of a mighty giant on a mission to set things straight in the world. The story is published in daily installments and will run until Election Day. All previous installments can be found below the current episode.
At that moment a fresh figure appeared on the scene, carrying a billboard on a stick. He waddled past the gathering and entered the grounds, heading straight for the manor. Ocelot was the only one to notice him.
“Hey there, Giddy!” he called out as he ran after him. “What are you up to?”
“Nothing much,” replied the billboard carrier. “Just leaning this sign up against walls; that’s all. It’s good work is what it is, bringing this message. Full of ideals is what the perfessor says. I know all about it because it’s hea-vy!”
With these words he leaned the sign against one of the towers of the ancient keep while Ocelot stared at it uncomprehendingly.
“What does it say?” he asked. “I cannot make any sense of the words.”
“Me neither,” Goose admitted. “But it doesn’t matter since we can always ask somebody to spell it out for us. What do you say?”
“So do you have a new job now?” is what Ocelot said. “Aren’t you driving your monster truck anymore?”
“I can only do one thing at a time,” Giddy Goose explained patiently. “First drive truck, then carry placard, but it’s all part of the same job. ‘Image-building’ is what the perfessor calls it. It’s fun, even if I don’t understand what it is for.”
“Hm,” said Ocelot. “Where does that professor live?”
But the image builder was done socializing and returned to work.
“Now then,” he said. “This sign has been here long enough. I’ve got to go now. See you later!”
