The Woodland String Quartet Celebrates 43 Years at Scotch Plains Public Library

The Woodland String Quartet plus one will perform their 43rd annual "Mozart and More" concert at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm.  This year’s concert will include music by Wolfgang “Amadeus” Mozart and Ludwig Van Beethoven as well as selections from “Fiddler on the Roof.”

First violinist Debra Biderman has been performing with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra since 1967 and is a private instructor of violin and viola at the Biderman Academy of Music in Edison. Ms. Biderman is a frequent soloist and recitalist. She is on the board of trustees of the Education Outreach and Marketing committees of the New Jersey Symphony, on a steering committee for M.A.S.H (mutual and self help) in North Plainfield, and serves as Fundraising Vice president for National Council of Jewish Women.

Cellist Linda Fink also is a private teacher and free-lance performer throughout the tri-state area. She is a member of St Peter by the Sea Orchestra, the Plainfield Symphony, the Monmouth Symphony, the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, and the Central Jersey Symphony.  She is the director of The Returning, Relearning Strings, a chamber ensemble of musicians who either played when in high school or recently started as beginners.

Violist Robert Paoli is the director of the Summit Strings, President of the Plainfield Music Club, and a prolific composer and arranger.

Violinist Lubove Schnable has her home studio in Fanwood and is the director of the Woodland Quartet as well as director of the Blue Hills Junior Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Schnable performs with the Central Jersey Symphony, the Plainfield Symphony, and the Summit Symphony.

This year, the Woodland String Quartet is happy to introduce their newest member, violist Mariana Webster.  Ms. Webster is a graduate of Temple University.  She plays throughout the Tri-State Area on viola and violin as a free-lance musician and she also works emergency management for F.E.M.A.

All library programs are free and open to all interested members of the public. Registration is not required for this program and seating will be on a first come, first seated basis, commencing at 6:30 pm.
