Three Men Wounded in Drive-By Shooting Saturday Night in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left three men wounded Saturday night outside a supermarket.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, police responded to a report of shots being fired at around 9 p.m. in a supermarket parking lot on the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and 12th Avenue.

"It appears to be a drive-by shooting," Murray told The Alternative Press. "A dark-colored SUV was traveling northbound on Rosa Parks Boulevard and, as it crossed the intersection at 12th Avenue, several shots were fired. All three victims were standing in the parking lot outside the market when they were struck."

The three victims were not together when they were wounded. A 20-year-old man was shot in the foot. A 62-year-old man was hit twice, in the hip and the forearm. And a 32-year-old man was wounded by a gunshot to the abdomen. All three were transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, where they are in stable condition.

A ballistics investigation will be conducted by the police as part of the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information can contact the Ceasefire Unit at (973) 321-1342.
