PATERSON, NJ - One man was wounded and two women were grazed in a shooting incident late Monday night in the city.
According to Lt. Patrick Murray, at around 11:05 p.m. a 29-year-old Belleville man was shot in the upper arm and leg while standing in a group near the corner of 10th Avenue and E. 19th Street. Two women at the scene, ages 27 and 24, were both grazed by gunfire and sustained superficial wounds.
The male victim was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he was in stable condition Tuesday morning. The two females were treated at St. Joseph's and released.
"At this time it appears that all of the victims were standing in a group on 10 Avenue near East 19 Street when shots were fired by an unknown person, and the victims were struck at that time," Murray said in a statement.
