PARKLAND, FL- Florida reports close to 13,000 new cases and 161 new deaths on Tuesday.
Total people vaccinated to date are 1,306,983 in Florida and 105,958 in Broward County. Per Governor DeSantis' Executive Order, the vaccine can only be given to long-term care facility residents and staff, persons 65 years of age and older, health care personnel with direct patient contact, and persons deemed to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 by hospital providers.
The percent of positive results ranged from 8.54% to 11.64% over the past 2 weeks and was 8.54% on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The percentage calculated is for people that test positive for the first time and does not include people that had previously tested positive.
Parkland Schools have a total of 82 cases through the latest data on January 16, 2021.
Here are the current COVID-19 numbers according to the Florida Department of Health as of Thursday, January 21, 2021:
Florida: 1,613,884 total confirmed cases, an increase of 12,873 since yesterday.
Broward County: 162,720 total confirmed cases, an increase of 1,096 since yesterday.
Parkland: 1,737 total confirmed cases, an increase of 16 since yesterday.
Coral Springs: 8,953 total confirmed cases, an increase of 77 since yesterday.
Deaths in Florida related to COVID-19: 24,739 an increase of 161 since yesterday.
Broward County: 7,936 (4.9%) total hospitalizations with 2,004 (1.2%) deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths increased by 6 since yesterday. The median age is 39.
Broward County Percent Positive: 8.0% per the latest data on January 19, 2021.
Broward County Hospital Bed Availability: Hospitals have 973 (17.7%) beds available and 87 (17.9%) adult ICU beds available per the latest data on January 20, 2021.

- Marjory Stoneman Douglas: 21 cases
- Mary Help of Christians School: 4 cases
- Park Trails Elementary: 17 cases
