WESTFIELD, NJ--Westfield and Mountainside, NJ, are known for their many beautiful homes, old and new, of myriad styles. On Oct. 20, The Hearth & Home Kitchen Tour will give the public a chance to see seven of these homes from the inside.

The self-guided tour, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a fund-raiser for Holy Trinity Interparochial School in Westfield.

“The main purpose of this tour is to raise funds for our Catholic elementary school and preschool,” said Robyn Kelly, a parent at the Holy Trinity Interparochial School and a committee member.  “Our other purpose is to support our local community by bringing in local businesses who also participate in the tour.”

Guests can start the tour at any of the homes. The addresses of all of the tour homes can be found on the back of each ticket.

There will be cuisine to sample from local chefs and bakers, and the homes' contractors and designers will be on hand to discuss ideas. There also will be tour programs given to each guest at the homes.

“The program will include a map of the homes as well as tour home descriptions and information about the businesses and culinary experts at each home for future reference,” Kelly said.

The first 400 guests will receive a goodie bag at one of the homes. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets at a “raffle house” to win house-related items.

Tickets for the tour can be purchased in advance for $35 at Baron's Drug Store, The Town Book Store, Christoffer’s Flowers, the school offices, St. Helen's parish office or through PayPal at http://htisnj.com. Checks should be mailed to: HTIS HSA, 336 First Avenue, Westfield, NJ, 07090.

Tickets can also be purchased at any house on the day of the event for $40. Questions can be addressed to kitchentour@htisnj.com.
