Toby Katz Remembrance to be Held February 2

WEST ORANGE, NJ - A Remembrance Service will be held for former West Orange Councilwoman Toby Katz on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 11:30 a.m. in the Toby Katz Center, located in Degnan Park, 650 Pleasant Valley Way.

Katz, a three-term Councilwoman, Community Activist, and Senior Citizen Advocate, passed away on Dec. 30, 2013, at the age of 92. 

Mayor Robert Parisi said, "Toby was a fearless, tireless advocate for those that needed a voice in government the most. I watched and admired her determined representation for the underprivileged and for the large tenant community in town.” 

The Toby Katz Community Center in Degnan Park was named for Councilwoman Katz and is used for various community and private events. The event is free and the community is encouraged to attend. Bagels and other refreshments will be served. RSVP at 973-650-0749.
