SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Work on improvements to Vinton Circle in Fanwood are scheduled to start on Friday, Aug. 29, with drainage pipe installation. The project will progress with the installation of new curbing and then full roadway reconstruction. The work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day and portions of the roadway may be closed during this time. Access will be available at the end of the day.
Meanwhile, Tillotson Road improvements, which began Monday, continue between Westfield Road and Midway Ave. Pavement resurfacing is expected to be completed near the end of the week.
St. Bart's Festival - Traffic Advisory
Scotch Plains police have issued the following advisory concerning the annual St Bartholomew Italian Festival, which will take place over Labor Day Weekend, beginning tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 29:
Expect heavy traffic along Westfield Ave and surrounding side streets. Parking regulations will be enforced. If your vehicle is parked illegally and posing a hazard or blocking a driveway, it will be towed. There will be very limited parking on the property along the Westfield Ave entrance.
Please be alert for heavy pedestrian traffic along Westfield Ave and surrounding side streets. Also, watch out for our Police Officers directing traffic in front of the church on Westfield Ave. Drive safe and enjoy the festival.
